Description

Our current times are filled with new demands that call for enhanced adaptability in and out of work. Ever-changing schedules, home and work obligations, partial or total virtual learning and or working, fear of illness, social isolation, grief and loss or just plain boredom or feeling like these uncertain times will never end. It may seem counterintuitive but in taking time to manage stress, both during times of stress and proactively, we can all respond more effectively to personal and professional challenges. It is an essential investment in order to be prepared for more challenging times.

This seminar invites participants to use an internal resource that is available to all: the breath. Learn the basics of mental wellness and how the human nervous system functions to better understand your own stress response. Participants will learn practices shown to soothe the nervous system and receive additional resources to continue your practice and support yourself and your community.

Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga


Lidia Snyder, LMSW, RYT-500, TCTSY-F is a Registered Yoga Teacher as well as a Certified TCTSY Facilitator and accredited TCTSY trainer of the Center for Trauma and Embodiment. She teaches traditional Hatha Yoga and Trauma Sensitive Yoga across Western New York, including organizational and individual clients. She has worked in child welfare and juvenile justice over the past 20 years and has taught graduate level courses in child welfare and organizational behavior. Lidia is a contributing author on Yoga and Resilience: Empowering Practices for Survivors of Sexual Trauma.

Completion Requirements

In order to receive a certificate of completion for this course participants must complete the following.

Please note all requirements can be found in your UBCE21 portal. 

- Watch all of the modules in the program. 

- Complete all readings and activities for each module.

- Complete the knowledge checks that are integrated into the videos with a score of 100%. 

- Complete the quiz on the readings in the orange "Evaluation & Certificate" button of each module with a passing score of 100%. 

- Complete the evaluation located in the "Evaluation & Certificate" button of each module as well as the over evaluation for the course.

- Continuing Education credits are awarded for individual module completion. You can find details for continuing education information on the "Course Schedule" tab Upon completion of all modules and the overall program evaluation you will be awarded the Wellness Project Certificate.
