Description

Limited to 24 participants. Discounts are not eligible for this training.

This class is for social workers, mental health practitioners, creative arts therapists, marriage and family therapists, counselors, nurses, doctors, clergy and others who are interested in incorporating Reiki into services to support individuals with their physical, emotional and spiritual healing process.

In this class you will learn about the universal healing energy of Reiki including its history, how it works, and how to use it to promote healing for your clients and yourself.  In addition to teaching you the fundamentals of Reiki, you will learn how to give a full Reiki treatment to others and yourself, and discuss how this might be integrated into your own self-care work and the current treatment of clients.  While Reiki is often a hands-on technique, many practice settings do not permit touching of clients and content will include how to use Reiki without physical contact.

You will receive Reiki Level 1 certification for completion of this training.

Demonstrations and supervised practice will be a part of the class, and you will be equipped to provide a full Reiki treatment to yourself and others by the end of the day.  In addition, guidelines will be provided for adapting Reiki to your specific treatment setting/clients.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe Reiki energy and its application to the therapeutic process;
  • Use Reiki by receiving an attunement to Reiki energy;
  • Demonstrate how to give a Reiki Treatment – practicing this on yourself and others in class including hands-on and hands-off methods;
  • Demonstrate and supervise practice for integrating Reiki into counseling session
  • Identify practical applications for how to use Reiki energy in your practice with clients.

Research: A description of the limited research on Reiki is available from the US Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health, National Center for Complimentary and Integrative Health at https://nccih.nih.gov/health/reiki/introduction.htm

Target Audience: social workers, mental health practitioners, creative arts therapists, marriage and facility therapists, psychologists, nurses, doctors, clergy, and others who are interested in incorporating Reiki to support individuals with their physical, emotional and spiritual healing process.
