Steps to Obtain Your Certificate of Initial CASAC Training After Graduation

  1. Sign in or use the "sign up" button on this page to create an account. 
    • Please note, you can also create an account by completing step 3 and paying the processing fee first, and then return to step two to complete the request form. 
       
  2. Complete the form included in the "Handouts" tab in this description.
    • Follow the instructions on the form and be sure to include all required documents including:
      • Copy of your transcript
      • The appropriate MSW Checklist highlighted with the courses you took. 
      • A copy of your MAT certificate, if applicable. Please note that as of Fall 2018, the MAT requirement is included in SW560. If you took SW560 prior to fall 2018 you will need to complete this free online MAT training
         
  3. Pay the $25 processing fee by adding this item to your cart and completing the checkout process. If you have not already set up an account, you will be prompted to do so. You will receive an email with your 350 hour CASAC certificate and be able to access it in the "Evaluation and Certificate" button located in your account. Please allow 1-2 weeks from the date of submission of the form, required documents, and payment to receive your certificate. 
    • You will need this certificate to begin the NYS OASAS CASAC application process. 
    • Please note that the completion of the 350 hours of initial CASAC education and training does not provide you with CASAC Trainee status.
    • Refer to the NYS OASAS CASAC website for more information on becoming a CASAC or CASAC Trainee.
       
  4. If you have questions about the MSW coursework that applies to initial CASAC training hours, contact faculty member Todd Sage or email the office of continuing education that issues the certificates of CASAS initial training
