In this hour, Dr. Paula Thomson addresses how creativity can impact those with PTSD. With one of the only known labs that have gathered psychophysiological data on performing artists and athletes that includes the Adult Attachment Interview (AAI), Dr. Paula Thomson illustrates her research findings and how performers re-create the events through music, film, theatre, or dance.
Mindfulness-Oriented Interventions for Trauma: Integrating Contemplative Practices with James Hopper, PhD
In this two-hour session, Dr. James Hopper illustrates the various circuitries and cycles within the brain. In addition to this, Dr. James Hopper discusses some key brain and psychological processes involved with trauma and how practices of mindfulness help heal the brain of a traumatized person.

In the hour long Theraplay session, Dr. Phyllis Booth explores the effective play techniques for family issues. Theraplay is the pre-verbal parent-infant emotional communication that shapes the maturation of the infant’s sensing and feeling brain. Laurel Parnell, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and director of the Parnell Institute for Attachment-Focused EMDR.
