Half a million people have benefited from her arts, professional development, therapy, creativity and educational programs. Peg Crawford, LMHC, has 48 years’ experience in counseling in Buffalo, NY.  She provides a unique approach to counseling by offering and teaching techniques that support the healing process in a holistic manner.  These techniques include Reiki, sound healing, Law of Attraction and Emotional Freedom Techniques (tapping). Peg has been a Reiki Master Teacher for 20 years and is an EFT Intermediate Level Practitioner. When these healing and energy techniques are added to the counseling process, many people become empowered to change their life through daily practices that help alleviate physical, emotional and spiritual pain, and move more quickly toward desired goals. Peg teaches all levels of Reiki, including Reiki Master Teacher classes on a regular basis.  Previously, she was the PROS Supervisor at Mid-Erie Counseling and Treatment Services in Buffalo.

Donna Gaines, LMSW, Ph.D., has written for Rolling Stone, MS, the Village Voice, Spin, Newsday and Salon. Her work has been published in underground fanzines, numerous trade and scholarly collections, professional journals and textbooks. Subjects have included music, tattoos, youth, guns, pornography, TV talk shows, suburbia, spirituality, gender culture, technology and intergenerational love. Gaines has a Ph.D. in Sociology, and a Masters degree in Social Work. An international expert on youth violence and culture, Dr. Gaines has been interviewed extensively in newspapers, for documentaries, on radio and television. She has provided consulting services to attorneys defending young people in death penalty trials, to community leaders, school administrators, clergy, to producers and reporters in the print and broadcast media in the United States, Canada and Europe. A dynamic and popular public speaker, lecturer and workshop facilitator, Gaines has taught sociology at Barnard College of Columbia University and the Graduate Faculty of New School University. Since 2013 Gaines has mentored students in social science, youth, and music studies at SUNY Empire State College.

Dr. Matthew L. Schwartz, DSW, LCSW, MBA, CFSW is a Solution Focused Brief Therapist, Certified Financial Social Worker, and Implementation Scientist in Buffalo, NY.

Matthew is a member and past board member of the Solution Focused Brief Therapy Association. He is the Research Committee Chair for the Center for Financial Social Work’s Financial Social Work Professional Network.

From 2018 to 2022, Matthew worked as an integrated (mental health and substance abuse) clinician in agency practice in Buffalo before transitioning to full time private practice, consulting, and training.

He remains actively involved with a number of community organizations, and shares his expertise as part-time faculty at the University at Buffalo School of Social Work. Additionally, Dr. Schwartz provides clinical training to agencies in Western New York, and throughout the United States.

Lidia Snyder, LMSW, RYT-500, TCTSY-F is a Registered Yoga Teacher as well as a Certified TCTSY Facilitator and accredited TCTSY trainer of the Center for Trauma and Embodiment. She teaches traditional Hatha Yoga and Trauma Sensitive Yoga across Western New York, including organizational and individual clients. She has worked in child welfare and juvenile justice over the past 20 years and has taught graduate level courses in child welfare and organizational behavior. Suzi Tortora, LCAT, LMHC, PLLC, is the founder and director of Dancing Dialogue, a creative arts psychotherapy practice in Cold Spring, NY and NYC, specializing in parent- infant/child and family therapy; trauma; medical illness; and adult chronic pain. She is the International Medical Creative Arts Spokesperson for the Andréa Rizzo Foundation, having created and continuing to be the senior dance/movement therapist for pediatric patients at Integrative Medicine Service, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, NYC, since 2003. She received the 2010 Marian Chace Distinguished Dance Therapist award from the ADTA. She has had the opportunity to study with teachers as varied as Herbert Benson, Bessel van der Kolk, Carolyn Myss, Jon Kabat-Zinn and Thich Nhat Hanh in academic, retreat and online settings. Elaine has a small private practice where she works with very young children and their families as well as with adults whose traumatizing event occurred in early childhood.
