Description

In this class, you will learn the basics of EFT, including how it affects stress, the nervous system and the brain. The EFT recipe and formula for tapping points, and the 9-Gamut procedure will be demonstrated and practiced. There will be an emphasis on the importance of words and being specific. Peg will cover use of EFT with fears, pain, anxiety, depression, trauma and cravings. Specific attention will be given to tapping on pain and other physical sensations, and gentle techniques for trauma.

Participants will have the opportunity to practice identifying aspects of a client’s story, tap on specific symptoms and stories and recognize the signs of physiological and cognitive shifts. Peg will provide options to try when EFT does not work or works very slowly with your client.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define Emotional Freedom Technique;
  • Describe how EFT affects stress, the nervous system, and the brain;
  • Demonstrate and practice the use of specific techniques;
  • Differentiate the use of EFT with pain, anxiety, depression, trauma, and cravings;
  • Identify at least two options to try EFT for when EFT does not work with your client.

Research: A list of the research completed on EFT is included on the EFT Universe Research website under “Outcome Studies”.

Target Audience: social workers, mental health practitioners, creative arts therapists, marriage and facility therapists, psychologists, nurses, doctors, and other interested individuals.
