  • Case studies, experiential exercises
  • Strategies to develop & maintain regular eating habits
  • Innovative steps to positive body image

This seminar presents a healing approach to understanding and treating problems with food and eating. Recognized eating disorders expert Shan Guisinger, Ph.D., will provide interventions and new techniques for obesity, anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder.

Many of today’s eating problems are the result of activating our bodies’ various adaptations to famine in the evolutionary past. When clients understand why and how bodies foil their attempts to eat normally they can more easily give up counterproductive behaviors and judgmental attitudes. You will bring home new strategies rooted in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness.

Dr. Guisinger has more than 28 years of practicing clinical experience in eating disorders. She completed postdoctoral work at the eating disorders clinic at Yale University. Shan speaks nationally on eating disorders, and her research work has been featured in several leading publications.
