Collaborative documentation (CD) is an Evidence-Based intervention that, when used effectively, enhances the therapeutic alliance and leads to positive treatment outcomes. In fact, national research has linked collaborative documentation to about a 10% increase in show rates immediately following implementation and an 85% success rate in engaging patients. This research also found a direct link to preventing clinician burnout. So why aren’t more clinicians incorporating CD into their practice? This course will explore collaborative documentation using a coaching framework. Participants will learn key strategies to support and inspire their clinical team members to incorporate this person-centered approach to care.
Learning Objectives:
Research: There have been a number of journal articles and studies published on collaborative documentation that can be found on Google Scholar. Additional articles can be found in the Journal of Human Services: Training, Research and Practice. Clinical publications and best practices may also be found on the MTM Services website.
Target Audience: social workers, mental health therapists, and other clinicians providing mental health services to children, youth, and families who meet the NYS OMH training grant eligibility criteria
